If you want to get a tourist visa to enter Canada, you will have to pay at least $100 Canadian dollars. Prices vary slightly depending on your country of origin.
If all you need is an eTA, the application will only cost $7 Canadian dollars and you will most likely receive the approval notification in your email a few minutes after you complete the online process.

When you complete the online process…
You will most likely need submit your fingerprints and photograph (biometrics).
